Last Item on the Agenda
A downloadable larp
NOTE: This is currently being prepared for re-release. All purchasers of the game will receive a free upgrade to the new files. Fall 2019.
Winner of the 2017 Civic Games Contest in the Skill Building category, Last Item on the Agenda is a a larp (Live-Action Role-Playing Game) for five players. Four to six players is optional. No separate facilitator/host is necessary. One player is in charge of delivering the instructions.
Players are staff of a group home. The game is about the difficulties of dealing with sexuality in group homes, particularly on what guidelines there are for staff carrying out their duties. The group homes in question are those for adults with a wide variety of developmental disabilities. These people are still sexual beings and the question is how to handle it. Many group homes are struggling with this issue, and they also have to have something to say about staff and their own behaviors when they are live-in staff. So, this is a game about how frustrating and difficult it is to be fair and compassionate in the workplace when the crux of the matter is messy human nature. It is not a game about abuse or rape.
